About the film
The story is loosely inspired and indirectly based on the teachings of the religious sect Twelve Tribes, which recruits new members by using brainwashing and love bombing methods. Twelve Tribes financially supports its activities through organic and cattle farming, management of restaurants Yellow Deli, hostels or furniture factories. Most members could be described as modern slaves. They refuse to send their children to public schools and rather educate them by themselves in their facilities. Their goal is to bring up 144,000 pure boys so that Jesus could return to the Earth. Children of the community are punished in the name of ‘love’ for showing emotions, imagination, gaming, crying or for any disobedience. In September 2013 the German police broke into two residences communities – in the towns Klosterzimmern and Wörnitz – and on suspicion of child abuse they took a total of 40 children from their parents. The Twelve Tribes sect is led by authoritarian Elbert Eugene Spriggs and has offices in USA, France, Spain, UK, Canada or in the Czech Republic.
