Born in Prague in 1970, he first earned a degree at the Czech Technical University and then in film production at FAMU. In 1995 he founded Negativ Film Productions, which has since been involved in the making of more than 40 feature films.
His biggest production achievements include two European Film Awards, one in 2008 for the documentary René (dir. Helena Třeštíková) and one in 2011 for the animated film Alois Nebel (dir. Tomáš Luňák), and three Czech Lion Awards for Year of the Devil (dir. Petr Zelenka), Something Like Happiness (dir. Bohdan Sláma) and Protector (dir. Marek Najbrt). Currently, Pavel Strnad also acts as the chairman of the board of the Audiovisual Producers’ Association.
Born in Prague in 1972. In 1994 he made his production debut with Saša Gedeon’s feature, Indian Summer. He founded Negativ with Pavel Strnad a year later. In 1999 he won the Czech Lion Award for The Idiot Returns.
Since 2003 he has led a production workshop at FAMU’s Production Department in Prague. Originally a social project, his long term work with children and non-actors in the theatre “Zmrzlík“ from the village of Těchonice, located in the foothills of Šumava, has gained a wide following and earned acclaim. He made his directorial debut in 2012 with children’s adventure film, Blue Tiger, which won several international awards. His second film, In Your Dreams, was screened in the Generation 14+ Competition at Berlinale 2016.
She started working in the film industry in 1985. She spent three years in “Krátký film” acting as a production assistant and the head of production for about 90 different documentary projects. Between 1988 and 1994 she lived abroad, in Germany and Belgium.
During this period she worked as a production coordinator for commercials, documentaries and live action films. Upon her return to Prague in 1994 she started producing commercials and music videos making more than 60 of them by 1998. In 1995 she gained her first experience with live action feature, acting as the head of production for Marian (dir. Petr Václav). Between 1995 and 2000 she was involved in the making of numerous live-action and documentary films as the head of production, executive producer or producer. She started working as a producer for Negativ in 2000.
Born in 1977 in Valašské Meziříčí. Having completed his high school studies, he worked as a sound engineer for Pavel Šmok’s Prague Chamber Ballet. During his studies at FAMU he was already involved in the making of Želary, Pupendo and Up and Down, acting as the executive producer.
His first production in Negativ was Champions, a film by Marek Najbrt, with whom he also made Protector (Czech Lion Award for Best Film in 2009) and Polski Film. His production work for Stream.cz internet TV includes Auto Bazaar Monte Karlo, “Žrouti”, “Luxus na talíři” and Blaník Office which earned him his second Czech Lion Award in 2015.
